the Summit

The 2020 Human Rights Summit: Innovations for Human Rights Advocacy was an exclusive online event that brought together representatives from human rights organizations, human rights advocates in the academe and media, as well as members of the donor community, to learn and discuss new ways of promoting human rights.

The Summit provided a platform for knowledge sharing and collaborative dialogue towards addressing opportunities and challenges for the Philippine human rights community. The Summit aimed to:

  • Raise awareness among the human rights and development sector of the opportunities and benefits of a behavioral science-backed DPI approach in human rights advocacy;
  • Share knowledge and information stemming from recent research and analysis on human rights attitudes and behaviors in the Philippines, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Review prototypes and good practices on human rights advocacy to strengthen human rights advocacy efforts; and
  • Launch knowledge products and engage a community of practice in the use of behavioral science and design thinking in the Philippine human rights community.
