Bringing together champions and allies
Since 2017, we have hosted an annual human rights summit that gathers champions and allies from civil society, the academe, and the government to discuss and respond to enduring and emerging challenges to human rights in the Philippines.
Working at the forefront to uphold human rights
At a time when public discourse on human rights is defined by populist narratives, widespread and coordinated disinformation, red-tagging, and the upcoming national elections, the Summit focuses on our role in proactively shaping the discourse on human rights in the country.
The 2021 Human Rights Summit discusses what it means to be an effective human rights advocate in the face of these challenging times.
And collectively forging a hopeful future for human rights
Entitled New Approaches: The Future of Human Rights Advocacy, the 2021 Human Rights Summit presents key findings from our partners’ researches on Filipinos’ perceptions and attitudes as well as civic and political behaviors when it comes to human rights.
A roster of experts and representatives from the human rights community tackle difficult but critical questions in a hybrid event of presentations, roundtable discussions, online exhibits and screenings, and interactive discussion forums — sparking conversations on new developments in human rights communications and advocacy and charting our ways forward.
